Please cite all sources used in the paper. It will be discussed toward the end of the year in fuller detail. As a heads up, students will be comparing biology in the past to biology in the present. Students may pick any Biology related topic applicable to the course and/or paper requirements.
All assignments for this class will be given with PLENTY of time to fully complete them for more than adequate standards. Students are expected to balance this class with the rest of their course load. A syllabus will be handed out the first day of class, and then posted online in calendar form to keep students on track with assignments. Most grading scales are based off of an A,B,C,D, F scale. In this class, E will constitute as failing, there are no F's given.
The grading system is as follows:
A 91-100
B 81-90
C 71-80
D 61-70
E 51-60
Grades are broken down as follows:
In Class Assignments- 5%
Homework- 5%
Pop Quizzes- 10%
Historical Biology Paper- 15%
Exams- 35%
Labs- 30%
All students a expected to maintain a standard of academic honesty. Cheating will not be tolerated, a zero will be given to all students involved and the grade may not be made up. No late work is accepted. If for some reason a student must miss a lab or exam, they must make arrangements 3 days prior to that date.
